Lamar County Alumni Baseball Hosts Benefit Tournament for Montie and Dawn Parson

The Lamar County Alumni Baseball Association will host its second tournament of the year on Friday, November 1, at the Paris High School Baseball Field, with all proceeds benefiting Montie and Dawn Parson.

Dawn is facing unexpected medical challenges and expenses, and the funds raised will go toward supporting Dawn and Montie on their journey to find answers and healing,” said event organizer Derek Jones.

The community is invited to come out, cheer on local players, and enjoy a day of baseball — all for a meaningful cause.

🧢 Event Highlights

Spectators and players alike can join in several fun competitions throughout the day, including:

  • Home Run Derby 💥
  • Fastest Pitch
  • Closest to the Plate 🎯

There will also be mini competitions and games open to everyone in attendance, keeping the fun going between matchups.

Come out for some great entertainment, where familiar faces will come out of retirement to play the game we all love,” Jones said. “There’ll be music, walk-up songs, and plenty of hometown spirit.

🎟 Games begin at 10 a.m. at Paris High School Baseball Field.

It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy some good old-fashioned baseball, reconnect with the community, and show support for a local family in need.
