A video showing a violent altercation at Paris High School has been circulating on social media, prompting concern among parents and the community. Paris ISD officials have confirmed that the incident, which took place on Wednesday, is under active investigation and that disciplinary action will be taken.

“Due to privacy laws, we cannot share specific disciplinary outcomes, but appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with district and state regulations,” said Assistant Superintendent Gary Preston. “Under Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code, students charged with aggravated assault may face expulsion.”

The video appears to show a planned attack, with bystanders recording as one student approaches another from behind, pulls her to the ground, and strikes her multiple times.

“We do not condone this type of behavior,” Preston said. “Our staff members are trained to respond promptly to such situations, and we continue to review our safety protocols to ensure all campuses remain safe and supportive environments for learning.”

According to Preston, adults responded immediately after the altercation, checked for injuries, and provided assistance.

“We want to remind students that if they witness concerning behavior or ever feel unsafe, they should report it right away to a teacher, counselor, or administrator,” he added. “Our top priority is ensuring every student feels safe and supported when they come to school.”
