PARIS, TEXAS — A new voice for local journalism has arrived in Lamar County with the launch of ParisTX.com, a community-focused news platform created by Paris native Dustin Terry.
For Terry, the site isn’t just another digital venture—it’s personal. Having grown up in Paris, Texas, and attended high school in nearby Bogata, Terry says returning to his roots through journalism is a dream come true.
“I’ve always considered myself a Texan through and through,” Terry explained. “Starting ParisTX.com feels like giving back to the place that shaped me. I love the people, I love the history, and I want to tell the stories that matter here at home.”
After graduating, Terry joined the United States Air Force, serving his country before pursuing a career in writing, media, and community building. Over the years, he’s created platforms that have attracted thousands of readers, but he says ParisTX.com holds a special place in his heart because it focuses on the people and places he grew up around.
“Local news is more important than ever,” Terry said. “Paris and Lamar County deserve coverage that highlights not only breaking news but also the good things happening—local businesses, community events, history, and the incredible people who make this place so unique.”
ParisTX.com aims to be a hub for local news, stories, and resources. Coverage will include:
By focusing on both hard news and positive community features, the platform hopes to become the go-to destination for anyone wanting to stay informed about Lamar County.
Terry believes local journalism thrives when it stays true to the community it serves. With ParisTX.com, he hopes to combine professional-quality reporting with the personal touch of a hometown perspective.
“This site isn’t about outsiders telling Paris what to think,” he said. “It’s about locals telling their own stories, celebrating what’s good here, and addressing challenges together.”
While the site is just beginning, Terry envisions ParisTX.com growing into a cornerstone of the community—covering everything from high school sports to city council updates, while also preserving the area’s culture and history for future generations.
“I’m proud to say ParisTX.com is born and raised right here in Lamar County, just like me,” Terry said. “I can’t wait to see how it grows, and I’m even more excited to hear from the community about what they want to see covered. This is their site as much as it is mine.”
